The Original Stories Part 1: An Inside Look

Following on from the success of the first two books, the Tale of the Unnamed Engine and Great Western Glory, we journey back to the late 1940's to experience Britain's steam railways like never before with this wonderful third companion book.

I have been asked to produce more titles in The British Railway Stories and we are likely to need a new illustrator in future. I have a discussion with my publisher tonight regarding this, but it is likely they will issue an advert for anyone to submit to them some sample artwork towards BRWS. 

So a heads up to the railway artists among us: this is your opportunity, potentially, to get your artwork into a company published hardback book in 2022. I would suggest if you are able to closely match Dean's existing artwork in GWG, you will impress quickly.

The End, and The Beginning: These are the stories we tell...

Major announcement:

From the end of September, The British Railway Stories Ltd will begin shutting down its operations: the Facebook page and the associated group will be closed down, the original website (this one) withdrawn, and Tale of the Unnamed Engine will be removed from Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing sales.

I am however delighted to announce that The British Railway Stories will now be published from December 2021 by Strathwood Publishing Limited, with books 1 and 2 (Tale of the Unnamed Engine and Great Western Glory) available in new, revised hardback editions just before Christmas 2021.

Audiobooks and Kindle releases will follow shortly after for both books.

I have been asked to write more books in the series and these will appear in the next few years.

Past projects - The LNER Silver Jubilee Set


I thought it would be a nice start to 2021 by looking at a past project, which was a conversion of some Hornby coaches and a Railroad Silver Fox model into a working set of the LNER's Silver Jubilee train.
